Description
Rachel Namingha NampeyoRachel Namingha Nampeyo (1903-1985) was the grandaughter of and assistant to famous Hopi Revival potter Nampeyo of First Mesa. Her mother, Nampeyo's daughter Annie Healing, also assisted Nampeyo and both continued the pottery legacy of Nampeyo. Rachel became famous herself and her work is in many collections, including in the Smithsonian. This handmade pot features a traditional abstract stylized design in black on clay colors. The pot has a free form design at the mouth which bows downward on one side. You can appreciate this in the photos and the expression of the clay from the potter.
This pot measures approx 6 inches wide, 5 inches high and 3 inches at the opening.
