The Beatles 1969 Ltd Edition Photograph 1/1 #2 in The Series, Voyage of the Fritz, Ducks Walk, Twickenham 04/09/69 24X20
Back in 1997 Derek Taylor, the Beatles/Apple press office was organizing an exhibition of photographs to be concurrently run in London and LA.
The images were going to be produced from original negatives held by The Beatles/Apple, this is one of the 38 different images that were chosen, only one print of each image was made and produced on museum quality white cotton linen paper of a very heavy gauge, the size is 28 " X 20", the image has been reproduced in various books and articles, 99% of time in black and white, this is from the original color negative.
Derek passed prior to the event taking place and no one else picked up the reins, all 38 images have been in storage for 25 years.
April 9th  1969, was a day when the band had been persuaded to pose in random locations in an attempt to
dispel
the bad press circulating that the band were about to split up, the first pic of the day was all 4 of them
leaning
on John's white Rolls Royce Phantom V (we sold the RR image yesterday), after the RR shot they moved downriver to 4 Ducks Walk where they posed for the photograph in this listing, their attire matches that of the RR pic, they then boarded a rowing boat, the 'Fritz Otto Maria Anna' and made it out to the first island that you see on google earth. (the rowing boat pic is not included)
A word on pricing, this is a 1/1 print, there will never be another with this heritage, a simple 12X8 B/W image bought from Getty can set you back 9 and all you get is a print of the original, this image is the original and is very large.
