Vintage Native American Carved Stone Head Tomahawk, War Club, Axe with a Wood Handle
.
This was purchased from the estate of a collector and unfortunately the family didn’t know the history or the tribe that made it.
The stone head is finely made with a groove to accommodate the handle.
The wood handle is straight and covered in a sinew stitched deerskin cover.
The stone head measures 5-1/2” long x 5” tall and is about an inch thick at the thickest.
The handle is 18” long so the total piece is about 23” long.
The stone head has some minor chipping on the edges.
There is some purple residue where we were told the grandkids decided to “chop” a piece of painted furniture!
