This is a vintage Japanese hand-made combined lacquered wooden box, which was made about 40-50 years ago.
Some kinds of woods are manually combined and it is called 'YOSEGI SAIKU', which is a traditional Japanese handcraft work. The mirror is installed on the back side of the lid.
